General Information:
Hello! My name is Michelle Kirkpatrick and I am the new Fifth Grade teacher at Luxford Elementary School. Ihave been teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in Portsmouth for nine years, and I am a Reading Specialist.
When I am not working, I am reading at the beach, or playing with my five cats and my miniature dachshund "Tess".
I am very excited to be here and I look forward to a successful year working with your students.

Monday: Reading-Read for 30 minutes and write in your reading log. Word Study: Word sort 3x
Tuesday: Reading-Read for 30 minutes and write in your log. Word Study- Writing sort.
Wednesday: Reading-Read for 30 minutes and write in your log. Word Study- Choose two activities.
Thursday: Reading- Read for 30 minutes and write in your log. Word Study- No Peek sort. Study words.
Virginia History
Students will be taking the 5th grade Virginia History SOL test this year. You can review with your student by looking iin the Social Studies notebook, binder, and SOL folder.
